PURPOSE: An apparatus for forming an electrophotograph and a control method thereof are provided to completely remove waste toner without using any additional waste toner removing device and obtain high quality image by increasing a transferring efficiency by variably applying voltage to the transfer roller according to a resistance of a paper. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling an apparatus for forming an electrophotograph includes the steps of electrifying a photosensitive drum by an electrifying roller(S410), cleaning a transfer roller for changing voltage of the transfer roller according to a predetermined reference by idle rotating the transfer roller and the photosensitive drum to remove waste toner attached to the transfer roller(S420), restoring the toner having residual negative charges from the photosensitive drum to a developing roller by a difference of potential(S430), forming an electrostatic latent image on the electrified photosensitive drum by a light emitting element(S440), forming a visual image by removing the toner positioned around the developing roller to the electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive drum(S450), pre-processing the toner for decreasing the attachment force of the toner attached to the photosensitive drum to a predetermined level(S460), and transferring the preprocessed toner being attached to the photosensitive drum to a printing paper(S470).
