PURPOSE: A slip control method of traction control system is provided to accomplish improved traction performance of automotive vehicle by controlling the degree of opening of a main throttle valve in accordance with a slip by a wheel speed of automotive vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a first step of recognizing state of automotive vehicle according to a wheel speed, location of throttle valve, and a location of accelerating pedal, and generating variables for vehicle according to the vehicle speed for an engine output control; a second step of judging a traction control state according to the generated variable and state of vehicle; a third step of judging whether the traction control state is an initial traction control state if it is judged as a track control on in the second step, performing an initial traction control and determining a control variable for traction control if it is judged as an initial traction control state, and determining a control variable for traction control if it is judged as not an initial traction control state; and a fourth step of adjusting the degree of opening of a throttle valve according to the variable determined in the third step so as to control the speed of driving wheel through an engine output control.
