PURPOSE: A damping force measuring device for a shock absorber is provided to precisely measure the damping force of the shock absorber by measuring the damping force in a same condition as the shock absorber is mounted in a real vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A damping force measuring device for a shock absorber includes a frame element having a base plate(100), a connection bar(110) mounted above the base plate and supporting bars(120) mounted between the base plate and the connection bar, a load cell(11) and an upper fixing jig(12) mounted on the connection bar and connected to a lower end of a shock absorber(10), an auxiliary frame(18) and a lower fixing jig(14) horizontally supported by a rod of the actuator at a side and connecting the lower end part of the shock absorber at the other side, a controller(16) for controlling a hydraulic pump(15) which supplies an oil pressure to the actuator and simultaneously receives a measuring value of the load cell, and a computer(17) as an output element.
