PURPOSE: An electron gun for color cathode ray tube is provided to prevent the distortion of an inner electrode and an outer electrode by improving a shape of an inner electrode and a shape of an outer electrode for forming a main lens. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun for color cathode ray tube comprises a cathode(20), a control electrode(30), a screen electrode(40), a focus electrode(50), a final acceleration electrode(60), an outer electrode(51,61), and an inner electrode(52,62). A large-sized electron beam passing hole(53,63) is formed on an upper face of the outer electrode. A multitude of small-sized electron beam passing hole is formed on the inner electrode. An inner sidewall is enlarged from an upper portion of the inner electrode to a lower portion of the inner electrode. The outer electrode has a sloped sidewall corresponding to the sidewall of the inner electrode.
