PURPOSE: Provided is a double-acting type opening device for a weaving machine which is characterized by reducing an assembling unit cost of the opening device owing to reducing the number of parts, and being possible to operate at high speed owing to forming twice an opening by one up-and-down moving of the machine. CONSTITUTION: Operating of the double-acting type opening device is comprised of: setting a circuit board(5) adhered to a solenoid and set between the first unit(10) and the second unit(11); assembling the first unit(10) and the second unit(11) to turn many hooks; forming many longitudinal needle holes(12) on the first and the second units(10, 11), followed by connecting longitudinal needles; connecting the hooks to a permanent magnet, so making the same pole as the pole of the solenoid on the time to do power transmission; separating the hook from the solenoid by repulsive force when the solenoid is charged with electricity; inserting alternately the hook into an insert hole of the longitudinal needle being the same position as a projection of the hook, so forming the opening by making not to move down the longitudinal needle(4) inserted to the hook; adhering the solenoid and the hook when the solenoid is cut off electricity, so coming off the projection from the insert hole; and then moving the longitudinal needle(4), so forming the opening.
