PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is to improve a color shift by dividing a unit pixel space in two in such a way that one portion is formed with a horizontal electrode field parallel to a gate bus line and the other portion is formed with a longitudinal electrode field parallel to a data bus line. CONSTITUTION: A gate bus line(11) and a data bus line(12) are arranged in such a lattice that they cross over each other, thereby defining a unit pixel(100). A gate insulating film is interposed between the gate bus line and the data bus line. A thin film transistor is formed on a crossed point of the gate insulating film and the data bus line. A counter electrode(14) is formed on the unit pixel space, and a pixel electrode(15) is connected to the thin film transistor to form an electrode field for driving a liquid crystal together with the counter electrode. The gate bus line is disposed on a lower substrate(10), while the data bus line is disposed on the gate insulating film applied on the gate bus line.
