PURPOSE: A digital still camera having an image conference transmission mode and a control method thereof are provided to appear a still image on a PC and transmit a dynamic picture image to a PC and display it on a monitor of the PC. CONSTITUTION: A mode switch outputs a signal with respect to a still image mode or an image conference transmission mode. A release switch outputs a signal for performing a pickup operation. A lens section(1) forms a phase of a light from a subject. A charge coupled display section(2) converts a light signal with respect to the phase of the subject formed by the lens section(1) into an electric signal. A noise removal/output controller(3) samples the electric signal from the charge coupled display section(2) to remove a noise. An analog/digital converter(4) converts an analog signal with respect to a subject outputted from the noise removal/output controller(3) into a digital signal. A controller(4) processes the digital signal from the analog/digital converter(4) in a frame unit. A frame memory(5) temporarily stores the digital image information of a frame unit from the controller(4). A compression storage means stores compressed image information from the controller(4). An information transmitter(7) transmits subject information from the compression storage means.
