The food packaging can is closed under vacuum by an easy to open metallic cover. The can is made of tin plate and has a cylindrical body (1) with the bottom wall forced on. There is an emptying hole which is detachably sealed with wax. An outwards wound cord (2) is applied on the upper end of the cylindrical body and is retracted causing a section of reduced diameter which is inclined inwards. This causes the lateral external edge of the cord to stay in the same vertical alignment as the external face of the cylindrical body lateral wall.
