<p>The invention concerns a method for triggering casting in a light-arc furnace, the arc furnace comprising a bell-shaped end wherein is located a taphole of said furnace, the method including the following steps: introducing a temperature sensor in the furnace bell-shaped end; measuring the temperature in the furnace bell-shaped end; triggering the casting when the temperature of the molten metal bath is not less than a predetermined critical value. The invention also concerns a measuring and sampling device which is particularly adapted to perform the necessary measurements in said method triggering the casting including a temperature and/or sampling sensor, and a device for manoeuvring said sensor, said manoeuvring device being operated in such a way as to ensure the introduction of said sensor into the molten metal bath in said bell-shaped end of the furnace. The manoeuvring device is preferably operated so as to ensure the introduction of said sensor in the furnace bell-shaped end through an opening in a lid of the bell-shaped end. It can, for example be an opening through which at the end of casting is introduced the material for plugging the taphole.</p> |
