The interval control method involves triggering the front windscreen wiping process depending on the degree of water coverage on the front screen detected by an especially optical rain detector (11). The rear screen wiper (5) interval is adjusted depending on the sampled current variation of the rear wiper motor and the first wiping process for the rear wiper is triggered from the front wiper (3) when it rains. An Independent claim is also included for a windscreen wiper system.
