PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable accurate control corresponding to the type of the battery, through a simple operation. SOLUTION: Battery-side harness couplers 141-143 are installed on a battery 12 and are provided with different types of internal wirings 141a-143a, corresponding to the types of battery 12. According to the internal wiring 141a-143a detected via a control-side harness coupler 16, a charging and discharging control means 20 identifies the type of the battery 12, selects the charging and discharging characteristics of the battery 12 of the identified type from the characteristics storing means 18, and controls the charging and discharging of the battery 12, using the selected characteristics. The charging and discharging characteristics storing means 18 and the control means 20 are realized by the memory and programs in CPUs 22 and 24. |
