PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently manufacture the long chirped grating optical fiber by using the beat signal, outputted by ring laser gyro which rotates concentrically at the same speed with the spool for the optical fiber, as an irradiation command signal to a laser light irradiation device. SOLUTION: The ring laser gyro 9 rotates concentrically at the same speed with a turntable 3 and the conic spool 1. A lens 4 and an ultraviolet-ray laser light source 5 are controlled by a tracking motor 6 to move in the generator direction of the spool while tracking the position of the optical fiber 2 moving up or down as the spool 1 rotates, thereby maintaining focus on the core of the optical fiber 2. A ring laser 9 outputs the beat signal of frequency which is proportional to the rotating speed of the motor 7. The laser irradiation device 12 supplies a light emission command to the light source 5 according to the beat signal from the ring laser 9. Even if the rotating speed of the motor 7 varies, spatial exposure intervals are always uniform. |
