PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make uniform the beam expansion angle in the longitudinal and lateral directions of a beam pattern. SOLUTION: A composite laser medium 1 is composed of a 90 degree optical polarizing plate 10 and two anisotropic crystals 11 and 12 with which both edge faces of the 90 degree optical polarizing plate 10 are pinched. The crystal axis of the anisotropic crystals 11 and 12 are orthogonally intersecting with each other. Condenser lenses 4 and 5 condence the stimulation light radiated from stimulators LD 2 and 3 to each edge face of the composite laser medium 1. Laser oscillation is obtained by repeatedly reflecting the light generated in the anisotropic crystals 11 and 12 between a total reflection mirror 7 and an output mirror 8. |
