PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the operation failure resulted from soldering by integrally molding a cylindrical part capable of caulking on the terminal of one contact plate, and caulking the cylindrical part after inserting a lead wire to the cylindrical part, thereby electrically connecting the lead wire to the terminal. SOLUTION: A first contact plate 26, a bimetal thermosensitive element 30, a second terminal 36 and a second contact plate 34 have holes for inserting a screw 46. The screw 46 is inserted to the holes of these members, and screwed to the screw bore of a mounting plate 22, whereby this thermostat 20 is assembled. In the state co-fastened by the screw 46, the first contact plate 36 and the second contact plate 34 are in the electric contact relation with the first terminal and the second terminal 36, respectively. A cylindrical part 50 is integrally molded at the end of the terminal 36 by punching and curling a material. One end of the lead wire 52 of a covered wire is inserted to each cylindrical part 50, and the cylindrical part 50 is caulked in the radial direction, for example, in two positions 54, whereby the terminal 36 is firmly connected to the lead wire 52.
