The invention relates to a passenger seat with pneumatically regulatable and reversibly deformable vacuum cushions (4, 4'). An elastic, indeformable base upholstery (5) is initially mounted on a seat frame (13). The base upholstery has recesses (10) for receiving at least one vacuum cushion. Filling of the vacuum cushion can be regulated by means of a pneumatic valve with a motor driven extraction pump (20). The vacuum cushion (4, 4') has separate segments (3), wherein said segments are filled with air-permeable upholstered bags (1) containing a pourable bulk material (2). The vacuum cushion (4, 4') extends preferably along the seat pan (7), back rest (8) and head rest (9) of the passenger seat.
