The stock inlet (10), for a papermaking or cardboard prodn. machine, has a distributor (J1) and pipe channels such as a pipe system (11) and/or a turbulence generator (13) with a conical lip outlet (14) structure to deliver the pulp to a fourdrinier (H1). The upper lip (15) of the lip assembly is a linked plate (15) with link joints (16a1,16a2) at two points. The joint (16a1) at the leading edge of the upper lip plate (15) is at the pedestal, and the center link joint (16a2) is at a supporting pedestal. The upper lip plate (15) together with its material thickness and dimensions are selected so that in a given pressure zone the position of the peak of the plate remains constant in the lip cone (14) on pressure changes. Adjustment units are between the link joints (16a1,16a2), across the machine width, to set the bending action of the upper lip plate (15) and the position of the spreader (17). The center link joint (16a2) is at a gap from the other link joint (16a1) of 0.5-0.9 times the length of the upper lip plate (15).
