An efficient inspection method which can completely prevent, by simple procedures, the occurrence of erroneous operations due to moisture and other atmospheric phenomena during inspections when inspecting, using a dc high voltage, for a pin hole a sealed package in which contents such as conductive fluidic matters and powder or foods are covered with an electrically insulating film. A conductor (4) leading from a voltage output terminal of a dc high-voltage power supply (6) is contacted with or adjoined to a side surface (31) of a sealed package in which conductive contents (1) such as fluidic matters are covered with an electrically insulating film (2) to charge the contents (1) of the sealed package (3). Then, an electrode (5) connected to an earthed wire (8) is adjoined to or contacted with a portion (3a) to be inspected where a pin hole is most likely to occur. A pin hole in the portion (3a) will cause discharge between the electrode (5) and the portion (3a); the absence of a pin hole will not cause discharge. A sensor (7) detects the presence/absence of discharge-caused light or/and noise.
