<p>A sampling probe (10) for withdrawing and filtering a portion of material from a vessel having an inner chamber containing the material and a port for receiving a probe. The sampling probe (10) comprises a casing (12) having a sample inlet (20), a pumping chamber (16) having a pump (18) for drawing a portion of the material into the pumping chamber through the sample inlet (20), and a filter chamber (14) downstream of the pumping chamber (16). The first chamber (14) includes a filter (24) which divides the filter chamber (14) into a retentate portion (22) and a filtrate portion (26), wherein at least part of the withdrawn material passes through the filter (24) into the filtrate portion (26).</p> |
