PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to generate chroma key even when there is no complicated operation part by previously writing key data corresponding to a prescribed color in a memory and reading out the written data as a key of the chroma key. SOLUTION: Since the chroma key device has a chrominance signal separation part 201 for separating a color difference signal from a foreground picture signal, a memory 302 for generating a mixing ratio from the color difference signal and a mixing part 204 for synthesizing the foreground picture signal and a background picture signal on the basis of the mixing ratio, the chroma key can be generated even when there is no complicated operation circuit.
