PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera that can photograph an object infinitely especially without the need for a memory of a high capacity in the camera. SOLUTION: A lens 11 forms an image of an object 10 to a position of a CCD 20 while matching the focus thereto, the CCD 20 tentatively stores the image and it is transferred to an image memory 30, where the image is stored. A control circuit usually consists of a CPU and a control ROM to control the entire operations of the camera. One of the features of the camera is that a shutter is operated interlocking with an operation of a shutter switch 41, the CCD 20 fetches an image, and the image data are stored in a prescribed address of the image memory 30. When the image memory 30 stores a prescribed number of images, the digital image can be transmitted. Furthermore, a time is set according to an instruction from an operation panel 42 to set the quality of the image to be stored. The operation panel 42 is used to enter a destination telephone number to which the image is transmitted under the control of the control circuit 40 and the telephone number is stored in a telephone number memory 50.
