PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mobile communication system and a delay time control method capable of reducing delay time at the time of transferring a radio signal. SOLUTION: The mobile communication system is provided with at least one mobile station 101, a 1st base station group 103, a 1st base station control part 105, a 2nd base station group 109, and a 2nd base station control part 111. The control part 105 generates a handover processing request on the basis of a control signal (not shown) from at least one mobile station 101 and releases a 1st communication line set up between a 1st selective synthesis means 105-2 and a radio signal terminating means 105-1. The control part 111 sets a 2nd communication line (123, 125 (121)) between a 2nd selective synthesis means 111-2 and the means 105-1 in response to the handover processing request. When the constitution described above is realized, the overlap of selective synthesis processing (105-2, 111-2) to be executed in each of base station control parts can be evaded and delay time concerned in the transfer of a radio signal can be shortened.
