PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the wide area disaster prevention management system of excellent versatility and inexpensive constitution capable of realizing a wide area distributed processings and executing information gathering and provision from anywhere inside the system. SOLUTION: At the time of a disaster, an information management server 3 transmits PING signals to IFAXes (internet facsimiles) (1)-(9) connected to an internet 2 and receives PING responses. Since the IFAX damaged so that communication can not be performed by the disaster can not respond to PING, it is judged that it suffered. The information management server 3 updates disaster data based on the PING response and the information management server 3 opens the disaster data to the public as a WWW page. The disaster data are perused by a browser 8 for information perusal.
