An electro-dip lacquering current contact system, having a centering pin (28) and slit guide (24) arrangement to prevent displacement of protective bells relative to contact pins, is new. An electro-dip lacquering current contact system, for electrical contact between a vehicle body carrier frame and a pair of conveyor suspensions, comprises (a) open-bottom protective bells for retaining air bubbles in the immersed state, the bells being fixed to the carrier frame and having an internal hollow cylindrical bare metallic contact face; (b) vertical contact pins which are fixed on the conveyor suspensions and which engage in the protective bells from below during contacting, the contact pins having upper end contact bodies with spherical upper surfaces; (c) two symmetrical angled locking ledges with a central passageway fitted on opposite protective bell vertical upright walls facing away from the carrier frame, the angles of the ledges being such that one of the ledges is horizontal in the inclined vehicle body position; and (d) guides which project vertically from each conveyor suspension and which carry locking tips on the side facing the bell, each locking tip having a downwards facing locking face which, during placement of the horizontal carrier frame on the conveyor suspensions, can pass through the central passageway and which, in the inclined lowering or raising position of the carrier frame, engages the top of one of the ledges. The novelty is that a centering pin (28) is provided concentric to the axis of the hollow cylinder of each protective bell (13) and projects horizontally outwards from the bell outer wall (19), the centering pin (28) engaging in a vertical slit (29) provided in the guide (24). The slit (29) engages with its slit base vertically lower in the guide ledges than the position of the pivot axis and of the centering pin (28) in the contacting position of the contact pin (17) in the protective bell (13) such that the locking tip (23) is positioned below the slit base and/or both sides of the slit (29).
