SEALED SECONDARY BATTERY SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed secondary battery system in no danger of becoming unable to be cooled due to leakage of a cooling medium caused by breakage through orifices for supplying/discharging the cooling medium. SOLUTION: This sealed secondary battery system is made up by series connecting a plurality of cells 2 each formed by housing a power generating element 15 in a battery jar 14 of a bottomed rectangular-cylindrical shape, integrally joining the cells 2 with each other, and sealing up an opening of each battery jar 14 with an integral lid body 4, 5. Cooling medium passages are disposed on both side of each cell 2 along the direction of its layout, and an inlet orifice 10 and an outlet orifice for supplying/discharging a cooling medium to/from the cooling medium passage are disposed in a recessed part formed in the lid 5 so as not to project outside the external form of the lid body 5.
