<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed secondary battery system with its cooling capacity prevented from being lowered due to air accumulation in meandering circulation passage in water-cooled jackets on both sides thereof. SOLUTION: A plurality of cells each made up by housing a power generating element in a battery jar of a bottomed rectangular-cylindrical shape and sealing up an opening thereof, are series connected with spaces 18 provided between the cells, cooling medium passages 21 are disposed on both sides of each cell 2 in the direction of its layout, straightening streaks 41 are projectingly provided in the cooling medium passages 21 to form meandering circulation passages 40, and air vents 43 are formed between upper ends 41a of the straightening protruded streaks 41 hung down from upper end parts of the cooling medium passages 21 and an upper end wall 42 above the cooling medium passages 21. Suitably, slopes 44 upward inclined and sideward directed are formed on, at least, portions confronting the air vents 43, of the upper end wall 42 above the cooling medium passages 21.</p> |
