<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sodium-sulfur battery suitable for operation with a high output required for a power saving equipment and an electric vehicle, and a module using it. SOLUTION: In a sodium-sulfur battery, a collector 20 of a composite material provided with a sulfur corrosion resistant metal layer 22 is provided on one side or both sides of an aluminum plate 21 along the surface of a solid electrolyte bag pipe 1, and filling density of a carbon material in a positive electrode mold 11 existing between the solid electrolyte bag pipe 1 and the collector 20 is either made bigger than filling density of a carbon material existing between the collector 20 and a positive electrode container 3, or no carbon material is provided between the collector 20 and the positive electrode container 3. Thereby, reducing an internal resistance of a sodium-sulfur battery can be compatible with making its capacity big, and a sodium-sulfur battery suitable for the usage purposes requiring a comparatively high output discharge such as those for peak shifting of a power system and an electric vehicle.</p> |
