PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photoreceptor which has high sensitivity, especially high sensitivity characteristics in the wavelength region of the semiconductor laser and potential stability at the time of repeated use, and especially, which is low in fluctuation of bright part potential at high temp. and high moisture and is almost free from image defects, especially, black spots in the reversal processing system. SOLUTION: Relating to an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a photosensitive layer on an electroconductive supporting body, the photosensitive layer contains, as a charge generating material, a phthalocyanine pigment andβ-hydroxyketone compound expressed by the formula, wherein R1 and R2 or R3 and R4 may form a ring by condensation and are each a hydrocarbon group which may have at least one substituent having carbon atoms of <=10. As the substituent, an alkyl group such as methyl group, ethyl group or the like, an alkoxy group such as methoxy group, ethoxy group or the like, a phenyl group and an alkylamino group such as dimethylamino group, or the like is exemplified. Asβ-hydroxyketone compound, 1-(2-cyclohexanonyl)cyclohexano is preferably exemplified.
