COMPOSITION FOR UNDER LAYER COATING AND PRODUCTION OF ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC PHOTORECEPTOR USING SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition for the under layer coating of an electrophotographic photoreceptor which does not get cloudy during storage and is excellent in handleability and shelf stability and to produce an electrophotographic photoreceptor using the composition with superior work efficiency and yield. SOLUTION: The composition contains a polyamide resin and an organic solvent. This organic solvent is a mixed solvent consisting of an alcohol and a cyclic saturated hydrocarbon and having 12.6-13.9 (cal/cm3)1/2 solubility parameterδ. The cyclic saturated hydrocarbon is preferably cyclohexane and the molar fraction of cyclohexane in the mixed solvent is preferably 0.02-0.40. The composition is applied on an electrically conductive substrate and dried to form an undercoat layer and a photosensitive layer containing an electric charge generating material and an electric charge transferring material is formed on the undercoat layer to produce the objective electrophotographic photoreceptor.
