PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a shadow mask structure, capable of preventing the shadow mask form coming off from a mask frame, even if an outer frame and a female die are raised after the shadow mask is slightly inserted into the mask frame. SOLUTION: In this method, the manufacture of a shadow mask structure comprises a process for receiving a shadow mask 1 in a recessed part composed of a female die 2 holding the shadow mask 1 and an outer frame 3 surrounding it, a process for aligning the shadow mask 1 and a mask frame 4, a process for fitting a skirt part of the shadow mask 1 to the mask frame 4 by pushing out the female die 2 with the outer frame 3 kept stationary, and a process for withdrawing the outer frame 3 and the female die 2 from the mask frame 4 after the fitting is performed. In this case, the frame 3 is previously withdrawn with the female die 2 abutted on the shadow mask 1 and kept stationary, and then the female die 2 is withdrawn.
