PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily produce a finely divided toner capable of low temperature fixation by emulsifying a polymer solution prepared by dissolving a polymer in an organic solvent by mixing with water and aggregating formed fine particles. SOLUTION: An organic solution prepared by dissolving a polymer in an organic solvent and optionally adding a basic compound is mixed with water to prepare emulsified particles of the polymer and the excess organic solvent is removed from the water. A fluid of fine particles of other toner materials such as a colorant is added to the resulting emulsion and aggregation and granulation are carried out to produce the objective toner. When the basic compound is added, the emulsion is easily prepared. A polyester resin is preferably used as the polymer.
