<p>A method of modifying at least part of the surface of a vulcanised rubber object including: (i) treating at least part of a suface of the vulcanised rubber object with at least one halogenating agent to provide a halogenated rubber surface; and (ii) treating the halogenated rubber surface with at least one multi-functional amine-containing organic compound to chemically bind said compound to the halogenated rubber surface; wherein the multifunctional amine containing organic compound consist of the elements carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen and optionally one or more of the elements oxygen, sulphur, halogen and phosphorous.</p> |
