HAND-OFF CONTROL METHOD AND MOBILE STATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent excessive occurrence of hand-off and to effectively utilize communication resources. SOLUTION: A route information storage part 101 in a car navigation system 10 including a GPS receiver determines a route from a destination inputted by a user. A service area information database 103 stores the service area information of a base station. A base station information database 104 stores the information of a base station covering a moving route. When a pilot intensity receiving part 108 receives a radio wave from the base station, a hand-off validity judging part 109 judges the validity of hand-off by referring to the position of a mobile station and information stored in the database 104 and instructs a transmission/reception control part 107 to judge whether a hand-off request is to be transmitted to a base station control device or not.
