A multi-purpose tray 1 for decorating has first 11 and second 13 receptacles or receptacle portions formed therein, said first receptacle or receptacle portion 11 being elongate and slot-like, and said second receptacle or receptacle portion 13 being shorter than said first. The first 11 and second 13 receptacles or receptacle portions are configured to facilitate different decorating operations. For example, portion 11 may accommodate a roll of wallpaper or hold fluid such as paint, water or glue, or have paint brushes or other tools stored therein. Portion 13 is a ramp communicating with portion 11 to hold a paint roller. Shallow grooves on both sides of a carrying hand-hole 7 can receive the handle of a brush or roller overlying portion 13. A corner of the tray may be recessed to fit snugly against a pipe of a radiator 20 which can be drained into portion 11 using a fluid deflector 22. A third receptacle 17 may receive an insert such as a rack (33) for tools such as brushes, or a graduated container (27) for liquid. The tray may have a lid (5) which may have a depression to serve as a mixing palette. |
