<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical sampling waveform observing device capable of observing an optical signal to be measured of an object of observation with high sensitivity at a high S/N ratio. SOLUTION: A pulse of sampling light P transmitted from an optical pulse generating means 1 are multiplexed with an optical signal to be measured S by an optical multiplexing means 2 and inputted to an optical cross-correlating means 30 which has pseudo phase aligning conditions of their sum-frequency light. The optical cross- correlating means 30 generates the sum-frequency light of the optical signal to be measured S and the pulse of sampling light P on the basis of secondary non-linear optical effects. The cross-correlating signal of the optical signal to be measured S and the pulse of sampling light is outputted as sum-frequency light in the optical cross-correlating means 30. As a light receiving part 4, an electric signal processing part 5, and a waveform displaying part 6 are provided, the light receiving part 4 photoelectrically converts and output the sum-frequency light to the electric signal processing part 5, the electric signal processing part 5 amplifies the output signal of the light receiving part 4 and converts it from analogue form into digital form, and the waveform displaying part 6 displays the waveform of the optical signal to be measured S.</p> |
