<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a uniform electron emission element of which characteristic has no dispersion by evenly applying an organic material in an application process of the organic material. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method is used to manufacture an electron emission element, having an conductive film 4 electrically connected to a pair of element electrodes 2, 3 facing to each other on a substrate 1 and having an electron emission part 5 formed, by arranging an organic film on the conductive film 4. In this case, the method comprises a process for forming the conductive film by applying a metal compound solution by an ink jet method and by drying and baking it, a process for forming a crack in the conductive film 4 by applying a voltage between the pair of element electrodes 2, 3, a process for forming an organic film of which film thickness distribution is set to 2/1 through 1/2, when the film thickness distribution is expressed by (the film thickness of the peripheral part of a dot/that of the central part of the dot) on the conductive film 4 by an ink jet method, and a process for forming the crack in the organic film by applying voltage between the pair of element electrodes 2, 3.</p> |
