PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the prevention of retransfer of a toner image to an image carrier and the formation of a stable image by composing a conductive member so that it can be brought into contact with a carrying means and separated therefrom. SOLUTION: During dummy rotation right after the transfer of a toner image of the final color to a recording material P, a transfer electrifying brush 13 is separated from a transfer sheet 8A. As a contact/separation control means for abutting the transfer electrifying brush 13 against the back face of the transfer sheet 8A (the interior of a transfer drum 80), a cam 20 that presses the transfer electrifying brush 13 against the transfer sheet 8A is used. Thus, because the press of the transfer electrifying brush 13 against the transfer sheet 8A is kept released other than a period of the transfer of a toner image on a photoreceptor drum 1 to the surface of a recording material P, an empty space is made between an unfixed toner image formed on the recording material P and the photoreceptor drum 1 or an abutting force is weakened. Therefore, this enables reduction in retransfer of the toner image on the recording material P to the surface of the photoreceptor drum 1 during the dummy rotation and so on. |
