PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a digital camera where a battery can be effectively consumed with excellent operability while extending the service life of the battery and to obtain an electronic instrument including the digital camera. SOLUTION: The digital camera is provided with a detection means 260 that detects a voltage of a drive battery E, a setting means 211 that sets a photographing available number on the basis of a voltage detected by this detection means 260 and a display means 100 that displays the photographing available number set by the setting means 211. Furthermore, a non-operation time reaching power OFF is changed, a non-operation time up to interruption of power application to a video circuit 270 and a display circuit 280 is changed, permission/inhibit of use of a reproduction mode is decided or permission/inhibit of use of a flash 5 is decided on the basis of the voltage of the battery.
