PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the focusing device of an electronic image pickup device which can be adapted to the wide-ranging conditions of an object. SOLUTION: When such a condition that the object is dark and the like is satisfied in the case of automatic focusing processing, a more precise focusing position is calculated by turning on a lamp device 101 according to a vertical synchronizing signal related to a CCD 5 and the electric charge accumulating action of the CCD 5 or the prescribed moving amount of a focusing lens 3 so that the proper automatic focusing processing is executed. Thus, the focusing device of the electronic image pickup device which can be adapted to the wide- ranging conditions of the object can be provided. |
