PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the liquid crystal display panel equipped with a means for protection against contact with other parts and a shock by fitting flat caps, which are made of elastic materials and can cover opposite unconnected sides including both their corner parts, onto the unconnected sides. SOLUTION: First and second transparent electrode substrates 11 and 12 are made of glass substrates which are formed rectangularly, the 1st transparent electrode substrate 11 is larger in size than the 2nd transparent electrode substrate 12, and parts 11a to 11c which project sideward from the 2nd transparent electrode substrate 12 are provided at three sides of the 1st transparent electrode substrate 11. The caps 15 and 15 are fit covering the right and left projection parts 11a and 11b and each cap 15 is made of an elastic member, formed flatly on the whole, and provided with a slit hole 15a, engaging the unconnected side end parts of unconnected sides 11a and 11b, on the surface facing the sides 11a and 11b. The respective caps 15 are fitted to the projection parts 11a and 11b while covering the peripheries of the opposite unconnected side end parts, so that all the corner parts of the liquid crystal panel are covered.
