The device includes at least one optical fibre (1) made of a flexible material for conducting an optical beam (P) in a propagation direction (10). At least one optical Bragg grating (11) is formed in the conductor and has a Bragg-wavelength ( lambda 1) which varies, in the propagation direction, as a function of the expansion or the contraction of the fibre. A force transmission device (2) converts the force to be measured, into a force which expands or contracts the conductor in the direction of propagation. The force transmission device preferably has at least one lever (20) which rotates about an axis fixed relative to the optical fibre, is joined to the fibre, and receives the force being measured.
