The method employs a liquid working medium, e.g. paraffin, e.g. pentadecane, hexadecane, heptadecane, octadecane, etc. During the cooling phase of the circuit, fusion heat is extracted from the medium. The extraction process ends before the liquid limit point of the medium has been reached, so that the medium retains flowability, and this is used to increase the heat exchange per surface unit. After the cooling phase, the working medium is mechanically compressed and supplied with isochoric heat energy. The expansion volume is then used to generated mechanical energy.
