The invention relates to a method for producing multicontact electrical connector halves comprising a multitude of electrical contact elements which are connected to an electrical strand and which are held in separate compartments or receptacles of a contact carrier that is made of an electrically insulating material. The inventive method makes it possible to reduce the amount of manual work required and is characterized in that contact carrier parts are produced in the shape of a belt band and are detached from the belt band after having been fitted with contact parts and after connecting strands to said contact parts. In addition, the contact carrier parts are assembled to form a block and, together, are connected to a connector half.
