PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate power while maintaining a pressure balance between a reformer and a fuel cell without taking out a load current equal to or more than the capability of the fuel cell, by operating both devices under an individual target operating pressure. SOLUTION: If a pressure in a reformer 1 becomes lower than a target operating pressure, the pressure in the reformer is raised by reducing the outflow of reforming gas, and if the pressure in the reformer 1 gets higher than the target operating pressure on the contrary, the pressure in the reformer is lowered by increasing the outflow of the reforming gas. On the other hand, if the pressure in a fuel cell 3 becomes higher than a target operating pressure, the pressure in the fuel cell is lowered by increasing the amount of reforming gas consumed in the fuel cell and taking out a lot of load current, and if the pressure in the fuel cell 3 becomes lower than the target operating pressure on the contrary, the pressure in the fuel cell is raised by reducing the amount of the reforming gas consumed in the fuel cell and decreasing the amount of load current to be taken out. |
