PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce battery consumption in a standby state of photographing. SOLUTION: A display section 20 sequentially receives an image signal denoting an object image from an image pickup section 10 in a photographing standby state and displays a video image of an object denoted by the image signals. Thus, a photographer can surely apply framing to the object. Furthermore, when the photographer depresses an operation switch for operation menu display in an operation switch section 30 to set a photographing condition or the like, a control section 40 displays the operation menu together with its video image by decreasing a frame rate or a resolution of the image signal from the image pickup section 10 to the display section 20.
