PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a member having two functions of electrification and cleaning. SOLUTION: A composite type electrifying and cleaning blade 22 incorporates an electric conductor 60 and a flexible chip 62. The electric conductor 60 supports the flexible chip 62 of the blade 22 and transfers electric charges 26 from an electrifying power source 24 to the flexible chip 62. After a developed image is transferred to paper 46 at a transfer station, making particles 30 and dirt 32 remaining on the photoconductive surface 14 of a drum 12 are removed by a blade 22. The blade 22 simultaneously transfers the electric charges 26 from the electrifying power source 24 to the photoconductive surface 14 of the drum 12 to repeat the electrophotographic process.
