PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a PHS telephone set capable of realizing optimum waiting and communication states by discriminating the sort concerned to the output, function, performance, etc., of each base station from the CS-ID of the base station, selecting and operating an operation parameter corresponding to the sort of the base station and automatically changing a synchronization continuing condition with waiting and communicating base stations. SOLUTION: A CS-ID table 6 for storing a part or all of CS-ID, an operation parameter 7 for determining a synchronization continuing condition with base stations for waiting and communication, sorting data 8 for respective base stations, and a stored data correspondence table 9 mutually relating these data are stored in a memory 5 and a CPU 1 automatically selects an operation parameter optimum to synchronization continuation with a certain base station from the CS-ID of the base station which is received through a radio circuit 3 and a base band LSI 2 to use the selected parameter.
