PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability in manufacture of a cylindrical heat exchanger. SOLUTION: A cylindrical heat exchanger 10 is adapted such that there are provided an inner cylinder 11 having an inner surface 11 and an outer surface both being flat, and an outer cylinder 12 having a protrusion at a middle portion thereof. There is further provided a refrigerant flow passage P between the inner cylinder 11 and the outer cylinder 12 by brazing the inner cylinder 11 and the outer cylinder 12 at an inner surface of cylindrical small diameter section 12a of the outer cylinder 12, and an outer surface 11b of the inner cylinder 11 with one end of the refrigerant flow passage P communicating with a medium inlet 12 provided on the outer cylinder 12 and with the other end communicating with a medium outlet 12e provided on the outer cylinder 12. In the heat exchanger, brazing between the outer cylinder 12 and the inner cylinder 11 is performed in a furnace and brazing of constituent parts joined with the inner cylinder 11, and the outer cylinder 12 is performed in the furnace.
