PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color picture tube capable of preventing deformation of a mask frame without lowering a mechanical strength, and capable of suppressing shifting of beam landing. SOLUTION: In this color picture tube having a panel, a shadow mask body 33 having a shadow mask 30, having a skirt, arranged oppositely to a phosphor screen formed on the inner face of the panel and having many electron beam passing holes 35 formed on the face, opposite to the phosphor screen, of the shadow mask 30, a roughly rectangular mask frame 36 equipped with a side wall to be mounted on the peripheral of the skirt 32 of the shadow mask body 33, and an elastic support mechanism for supporting the shadow mask body 33 so as to be on the fixed position relative to the panel, plural inflection parts 37 for dividing long-side side walls 34a of the side wall of the mask frame 36 into non-contact sides 34a1 out of contact with the long sides of the skirt 32 and contact sides 34a2 in contact with the long sides of the skirt 32, are installed.
