JAMMING DETECTION AND BLANKING FOR GPS RECEIVER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the performance of a ground base receiver by adapting countermeasures to reduce an error generated in a GPS receiver by a jamming signal. SOLUTION: A GPS receiver must concurrently extract data from several satellites to determine the position of the receiver. This method for minimizing the error in the GPS receiver under the existence of a jamming signal includes a step for receiving the GPS signal in relation to the jamming signal, a step for detecting the jamming signal, and a step for adapting the countermeasures to reduce the error generated in the receiver. When jamming is detected, various countermeasures can be taken. A simple countermeasure is to stop a system until the jamming signal disappears, then an erroneous jump of the position or an error of the speed can be prevented, and accumulation of errors is prevented.
