The device for making up bunches of a product comprises a working table (12) which receives the product (P) and a mobile arm (18) which can move above the table to feed a cord (26) to a bunching position (46) in order to fix the cord around the product. A pushing device (80) moves in synchronisation with the arm from a retracted position below the table when the product arrives through a cycle which pushes it to the bunching position as the arm approaches the table.
